JD Edwards Functional Consultant (Finance)

Affinity Staffing is looking for a JDE Functional Consultant (Contract) to work with our client on a JD Edwards enhancement project--specifically for the finance module. This position is the functional subject matter expert for the JD Edwards (JDE) financial applications. Consequently, this position requires a detailed understanding of the features and functionality of the JD Edwards applications and their integrations to other modules or applications. The role will be responsible for supporting the JDE applications as well as leading business process improvements for those financial processes supported by JD Edwards. You will be required to work within IT as well as across the functional business groups in the definition of requirements, solution design, configuration, and implementation. 

  • Gather user requirements to develop solutions and alternatives
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Translate high-level information into details as well as summarize detailed information
  • Communicate and collaborate with users to analyze information needs and functional requirements
  • Provide application thought leadership and day-to-day analysis on project work, system enhancements, and end user support
  • Collaborate with team members on new development efforts, create supporting documentation and functional specifications
  • Lead the JDE Financials work stream in the implementation of key JD Edwards initiatives
  • Influence internal stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes, including process improvement
  • Effectively communicate current activities, status, issues to stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts and Finance or related field. Equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • Strong JDE experience in Finance covering AP, AR, GL, FA and Costing
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills
  • Able to assume and complete assignments independently
  • Able to explain technical concepts to a broad audience.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and priorities work.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, and subject matter experts with defined procedures and with limited supervision.
