IT Director

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Information Technology Director will provide leadership and overall direction of the IT Strategy including the direction of team members, planning, budgeting, and portfolio management of information assets to ensure the facilitation and achievement of established goals. The position is responsible for YTD budget and KPI reporting, project management of IT activities across the organization, purchasing and licensing of IT assets, the management of security systems and security protocols as well as the co-ordination of the IT architecture across the enterprise.
 

Responsibilities 
  • Management and oversight of the IT department team members
  • Oversee the department’s organizational design, including in-house human resource and external contractor requirements to ensure seamless delivery of IT solutions to a growing organization.
  • Budget planning, management and reporting
  • Management of vendor relationships and contracts for IT assets
  • Collaborate and assist the leadership in strategic planning to ensure the IT roadmap is continuously supporting and sustaining the business and operational needs
  • Lead and coordinate development of our infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibility
  • Regularly brief the leadership team on new technologies and capabilities to improve and enhance customer and other stakeholder experiences or drive business process improvements
  • Develop a long range strategy for ERP and corporate systems and the enterprise architecture to support these systems
  • Ensure an enterprise architecture and strategy for business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Management and oversight of all IT infrastructure, security, network, cloud technologies, telephony systems and the overall enterprise architecture
  • Management and oversite of the following security systems & protocols, all corporate systems and platforms, data integrations, EDI, software and firmware updating, IT assets and inventory reporting
 

Qualifications
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
  • Minimum 7 years of Information Technology experience with increasing responsibility
  • Minimum 3 years of IT staff management
  • Strong understanding over new and evolving technologies and the ability to clearly articulate the vision for how best to evolve information technology through the translation of business needs into system solutions making maximum use of available tools
  • Minimum 7 years experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Strong people management and a high level of “EQ”
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact and have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to accomplish expected tasks in an accurate and timely fashion
